In honour of Tim Peake, the first British astronaut to carry out a spacewalk, I thought I’d share this bit of fun on a Sunday evening.
I know that it’s not a photo that I’ve taken, but technically it’s an image, so it counts as one of the 366 I’m posting this year, doesn’t it?
Like many, I’ve been fascinated by space and exploration since I was very small. Family lore has it that the morning after Armstrong first walked on the moon, my parents came into my room to find I’d decorated the newly painted walls with images of stars, rockets and planets – no mean feat for a 3 year old in East Africa. I was allegedly one of the first in Scotland to gain the Astronomer’s badge in Scouts, and I’ve recently discovered the joys of the National Space Centre in Leicester. I’d love to go into space but couldn’t handle the motion sickness tests I’m sure!
